This beautiful tree is one of the largest leafed magnolias around. We have one just outside the entrance to Apple Court, meaning that visitors can not fail to see it. Ours is actually a rare minature variety, subsp. ashei or “Ashe’s magnolia”. Just as well as the larger form would dwarf our small car park and entrance! It’s leaves are still enormous, as are it’s flowers, which come out one by one throughout the summer.
